Nuisance Vehicles/Road Traffic Offences |
||
|
Hello all
Nuisance vehicles come in all guises , not having insurance, MOT, tax, being driven carelessly/dangerously whether that be speeding, poor manoeuvres, the list goes on, I know!
I can't be everywhere and I also have other business to deal with but where I can I will deal with these drivers as I have done over the last few days.
Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 is designed to tackle the antisocial use of motor vehicles. It gives uniformed constables the power to act when they have reasonable grounds to believe a vehicle is being used in a manner that: Contravenes Section 3 or 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, which covers careless or inconsiderate driving and off-road driving, and Is causing, or likely to cause, alarm, distress, or annoyance to the public. 09/05-Traffic Offence Report (TOR) for driving without reasonable consideration to other users and a section 59 warning. 10/05-TOR issued to a provisional licence holder who was driving unsupervised. 13/05 TOR issued for having no insurance and no MOT since 2023, reported to the DVLA for not having tax since 2022, vehicle seized. 15/05-Tracked down a vehicle that didn't have insurance and knew that the driver was disqualified, driver will be dealt with by the courts, vehicle seized.
I know that there are many others that need taking off the road but the above isn't a ‘one off' as I'm always on the lookout for these type of vehicles and drivers/riders and when found they will be dealt with.
On a separate note, thank you for your patience if you happened to pass the collision at Hammonds Corner last Thursday, there was quite a bit of brake/clutch fluid over the road hence why it was one lane only for a long time, my arms were aching the following day doing all of that traffic control but also thank you to the members of public who were already doing it before I arrived and were kind enough to continue doing it until my colleagues arrived to take over, fortunately it looked a lot worse than it was as there were only very minor injuries.
Thank you Steve.
